IMGL’s (아이엠지엘) two new releases are nothing short of electric. Hey You and My World are average rock/pop-punk songs which set off the emo feels you thought you left behind in year 9.

Both songs contain slower build ups until they get to the chorus, where it amps up into intense rock; basically sounding like Fall Out Boy in their Infinity on High era.

The beginning of Hey You sounds very Fall Out Boy, with the guitar trailing off into something that reminds me of their song, Thriller. The rest of the song begins to sound like something you could totally kill on Guitar Hero. The video plainly consists of the band playing to the camera and is filled with flashing lights, so take that how you will.

My World is an angsty, more All Time Low-reminiscent rock track, with shaky videography. There’s heaps of shots of the band members running around and looking lost/pissed off about things. The breakdown is echoed and adds to those ‘I don’t know who I am in the world"  feels, with random shots of the members getting deep and reflective

Both tracks do have pretty uninventive, ridiculously cliche videos; filled with lots of angst, head banging and shots of the members shredding their instruments. Most of the times I listened to this song, I couldn't watch their MVs because they just hit too close to home and remind me of my emo days too much. (Not really, but they reminded me of them a lot)
