GHOST LOFT returns with an ambitious fusion of early 2000's RnB and electropop that falls more than it soars.

Young LA producer GHOST LOFT has carved out a veiled, carefully crafted aesthetic in the last few years, specialising in slinky, strictly after-hours electropop jams with a homespun feel. But in MJB RMX, Mary J. Blige's sample appears more unique than the producer himself.

Neither Mary J. Blige nor GHOST LOFT belong together. GHOST LOFT unimaginatively samples Mary J Blige’s “Family Affairs” to a warbling, tinny beat. The stuttering track eventually opens into a predictable electro-house beat drop. It’s the kind of song that you vibe out to if you’re drunk enough but ultimately becomes indistinguishable from its electro-house counterparts at the end of a night out.

Mary J is in the spotlight tonight but GHOST LOFT is nowhere to be seen.
