LISTEN: MARTIN GARRIX NOW PRODUCES FUTURE BASS IN "IN THE NAME OF LOVE" FT BEBE REXHA

As Martin Garrix enters the future bass wave, does he add to the genre or detract from it?

Martin Garrix has come a long way since he released 'Animals' in 2013 at the age of 17. The traditionally electro-house producer has an estimated net worth of 17 million. But as music tastes and audiences are constantly changing, producers need to be flexible if they want to get heard on the radio.

Originating roughly 4 years ago, Future Bass is probably best described by reddit user 'wheelyam' as "really heavy synth falling late on a beat or having really steady bass over atmospheric or euphoric dreamscape sounds."

Combined with Bebe Rexha's vocals that adds power to the radio-friendly production, tracks like this are gradually influencing the mainstream and weaving their way into pop music.

Some critics say future bass has already become diluted and commercialised by artists trying to remain relevant. However I reckon, seeing a producer like Martin Garrix make a track like this contributes more to the evolution of electronic and pop music rather than diluting from it.

It will be very interesting to see if the success of In the Name of Love means more future bass from Martin Garrix or if he may just move onto trap influenced music or other emerging genres.

Enjoy!
