If the title doesn't sell it to you, then the comedic duo Luis Guzman and Edgar Garcia will. Following on from  the directors' success in ‘How to Make it In America’, the pair play NYPD cops solving the case of a missing purse for a French designer.

In reality, the case is a cover-up for a vacation in one of the world’s most romantic cities. The pair stumble through the fashion-world’s night life, charming cafés and sexy (yet terrifying) Parisienne women.

Director Ian Edelman plays on Parisian and Hispanic tropes to bring us a light-hearted, action-filled comedy. The short, sharp cuts used throughout the trailer give us a teasing insight into what the film will bring us.

However, I feel they should have alluded more to how the case will be resolved, giving the movie a greater sense of direction. I also feel plotline would have been better suited to a short film style, rather than a full-blown 80 min long movie.

‘Puerto Ricans in Paris’ premieres at the LA Film Festival from 10-18 June.

Synopsis from IMDB:

Two Puerto Rican NYPD detectives head to Paris to track down a stolen handbag.
